Fritz Darges
Fritz Darges ( born February 8, 1913 in Dülseberg, † October 25, 2009 in Celle) was an SS - Obersturmbannführer and at times personal adjutant of Adolf Hitler.
Life
Darges completed a commercial education. In 1933, he joined the SS. In 1934 he was promoted to SS -Standartenführer to SS- Junker and 1935 Untersturmführer 2 standard SS -VT. Darges took 1934/35 on the first course of the SS Junker School in Bad Tolz part. Then he knew to 1939 service in the Regiment " Germania ", until 1940 the regiment " Germany " and afterwards was a company commander in the regiment " Der Führer". Darges belonged to the NSDAP ( Mitgliedsnr. 4166936 ) and SS ( SS-Nr. 72,222 ) of.
From 1936 to 1939 he was adjutant to Martin Bormann. In 1937 he was promoted to First Lieutenant.
1940-1942 Darges aide was with Hitler; then he made the military service. Darges was until 1944, interrupted only by courses and war effort, the Fuehrer's headquarters.
From March 1943 to July 18, 1944, he was the personal aide to Adolf Hitler, responsible among other things as a companion for the safety of Eva Braun and Hitler to hedge and its surroundings. The dismissal of Hitler's environment should be carried out according to testimony by Rochus Misch, after Darges laughed when it failed Hitler, one to drive him annoying insect. According to another version the capture of the insect he allegedly failed because it did not comply with the instruction by inattention.
January 30, 1944 Fritz Darges was promoted to SS - Obersturmbannführer. On 16 May 1944 he married the widow Mrs. Renate Free Hadeln, born Baroness von Thermann.
On 8 May 1945, he was interned by the U.S. Army and was released from prison in 1948.
After the Second World War he lived in Celle, Lower Saxony, and worked at a car dealership in the repair assumption; later as manager of the Red Cross of Celle. In 1993, he organized a meeting with the Knight's Cross of carriers in Celle.
In 1952 he married Helene Darges sun man.
Darges died in 2009 in Celle, where he was buried at the city cemetery.
