Fritz Weaver

Fritz Weaver ( born January 19, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American film and theater actor.

Life

Weaver, who was a conscientious objector during World War II, graduated from the University of Chicago and earned his Bachelor of Arts. Since the 1950s, Weaver was on Broadway on stage, and in 1970 won a Tony Award.

Weaver could also be obtained for numerous television series and feature films. He became internationally known for his starring role in the 1978 miniseries produced Holocaust - The Story of the White family. For his portrayal of a persecuted Jews during the time of National Socialism Weaver received an Emmy nomination.

Fritz Weaver was married twice. He married on 7 February 1953, the actress Sylvia Short. From the marriage, which ended in divorce in 1979, emerged two sons. Since 1997, Weaver is married to Rochelle Oliver, who is also an actress.

Fritz Weaver is also brother of the production designer Mary Dodson.
