Promised Land ( U.S. title: Home of the Brave ( Season 1 ), later Promised Land ) is an American television series that was produced in the years 1996-1999 in three seasons. It is a spin-off of the TV series Touched by an Angel, which also includes the initiation sequence belongs. A total of 69 episodes and four crossover episodes created with Touched by an Angel. Another crossover exists with the series Diagnosis: Murder.
Action
Russell Greene loses his job as a construction worker and soon afterwards his house. He must move in with his wife Claire and their two children Josh and Dinah, and his nephew Nathaniel in a caravan. Also, Russell's mother Hattie joins the family. Together they decide to meet with all their possessions America. Even Russell wants his faith and spirituality deepen after he had contact with the angel Tess. (Crossover to Touched by an Angel )
Background
The series, launched by Martha Williamson, the beginning was a success, but with the episodes disappeared the enthusiasm of the U.S. television audience. The success of Touched by an Angel could not be transmitted to the offspring; therefore came off after only three seasons.
Nevertheless, an attempt is made to portray the daily lived faith of Greene's believable, and this in part with known actors.
Already in the second season episode 1 of Touched by an Angel Gerald McRaney made a guest appearance, this not as Russell Greene.
