From Enslavement to Obliteration is the second studio album by the British grindcore band Napalm Death. It was released in September 1988 with Earache Records and one of the seminal albums of the genre. A part of the first edition consisted of an EP with the title The Curse containing five bonus tracks.

The recordings took place in early summer 1988 at the Birdsong Studio in Worcester under the direction of engineer Steve Bird instead. In order to ensure a good recording, the band had different than the previous Scum rehearsed the songs before. The album is the only one of Napalm Death, on the Lee Dorrian is heard as the sole vocalist. The lyrics were written mostly by him, Dorrian laid emphasis on the statements in his writings, although he was aware that the listener can not understand this and have to read. In the compositions of the group insisted that they are " direct and brutal " sound, it flowed both influences from the hardcore punk of Discharge and from the metal. The group had already recorded a demo in 1986 entitled From Enslavement to Obliteration, which is not identical with the album, however, except for the name.

Shortly after the release, the album debuted at # 1 on the UK indie charts and sold within a few weeks more than 35,000 times. The British music press praised the success with an extensive reporting, culminating in a cover story in the NME in November 1988. Author Steven Wells described the music as " gravediggers of rock ' n ' roll," other music critics invented for the music on the album the buzzword Britcore. Part of the success leads Digby Pearson, owner of Earache and co-producer of the album, on the professionalisation of his label back, so to Obliteration From Enslavement was first published as a CD. During the tour for the album Napalm Death played partially in front of over 1,000 spectators.
