Frontenac is a settlement on community- free area in Goodhue County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. For statistical purposes, the place has been combined to form a census-designated place (CDP). In 2010, Frontenac had 282 inhabitants.
Geography
Frontenac is located at located at 44 ° 30'40 " north latitude and 92 ° 21'24 " west longitude and extending over 4.78 km ². The village is located within the Florence Township. Frontenac consists of two districts: the edge of the Frontenac State Park on the west bank of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Wisconsin. The Mississippi River is widened at this point to Lake Pepin.
Neighbouring places of Frontenac Lake City ( 10.6 km downstream) and Red Wing (16,7 km upstream).

Traffic
U.S. Highway 61, which forms the Minnesota section of the Great River Road leads here, parallel to the Mississippi by Frontenac. U.S. Highway 63 runs on the same route through the town. All other roads are minor roadways or within city roads.
By Frontenac runs parallel to the Mississippi River and the Great River Road, a railway line of the Canadian Pacific Railway.
