FSV Union Fürstenwalde

The FSV Union 1919 Fiirstenwalde is a German football club from Prince forest. The FSV was created in 2002 from the merger of SG Union Fiirstenwalde 1919 with the FSV Wacker Fiirstenwalde. Its roots go back to the year 1919.

History

1919-1945: Foundation and merger

The club was established in 1919 as a department of the Berlin football club SC Union 06 Oberschoeneweide under the name SC Union 06 Oberschönweide Dept. Fiirstenwalde. In 1927 its name to SC Union Fiirstenwalde 1919 and graduated in 1933 with FC Wacker Fiirstenwalde 1923 FC 1919 Fiirstenwalde together. Until its dissolution after the war ended in 1945 by the Allied Control Council, the club played unterklassig.

1945-1971: Re-establishment in the GDR football

In place of the old FC was founded in 1946 FDJ SG Fiirstenwalde which renamed itself in 1950 in SG Union Fiirstenwalde. Although at this time the most independent sports teams in company sports teams (BSG ) were converted under the sponsorship of local businesses and institutions, the SG Union could maintain their financial independence until 1958. The Fürstenwalder football players were in 1952 of the founding teams of the district league Frankfurt, after they had played before the creation of the East German districts in the national league Brandenburg, and there usually occupied seats in mid-table.

In 1958, the restructuring in the BSG Empor Fiirstenwalde in 1959 a first successful experience brought with the rise in the third class II DDR -Liga. In the season 1960 Empor however, was knocked off in the last season and got back into the district league. The following year, the BSG Empor merged with local rivals BSG Motor for TSG Fiirstenwalde. In 1963, the TSG was district champion again, but missed with a 4th place in the promotion round to second-rate DDR -Liga clearly the rise. In the following years the team languished mostly in the middle of the district league Frankfurt ( Oder), at the end of the 1970/71 season it was actually only the 13th Place.

1971-1990: cadre of BFC Dynamo

At the same time the GDR security organs under -standing sports club Dynamo was making plans for a new youth development center within reach of the Berliner FC Dynamo. Such although there was with Dynamo Frankfurt, but seemed to Dynamo officials of the location of the county seat Fiirstenwalde cheaper because with FC forward and the BSG semiconductor plant two potent football teams in Frankfurt were already established. 1990 until today: The road to FSV Union 1919

The club joined the debate under the name SG Union 1919 Fiirstenwalde always unterklassig to. 2002 SG Union merged with the playing in the fifth division Brandenburg FSV Wacker Fiirstenwalde for FSV Union Fürstenwalde. Union played in the subsequent years up to a season mostly against relegation and could not prevent this in 2006. 2008 Fürstenwalder managed the re-emergence in the now renamed Brandenburg League Association league in which one 2011, the Championship and the associated rise in the Oberliga Nordost celebrated.
