Fuji Five Lakes

The Fuji Five Lakes (Japanese富士 五 湖Fuji goko ) lie at the northern foot of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan. They contain spring water from the volcano, which solidified lava filters the strike to the slopes of precipitation over decades and discharges into the lakes.

The lakes are, in order from west to east:

All five have a beautiful view of Mount Fuji, especially in spring and in autumn, when its summit is covered with snow. The lakes are located in a rural area. There are many opportunities for camping, boating and fishing.

Between the mountains and the lakes in the north- west lies the Aokigahara - forest area.
