Fujiwara no Michitaka
Fujiwara no Michitaka (Japanese藤原 道 隆; * 953, † May 16 995 ) was the first son of the Regent Kaneie and Tokihime, and thus a Hofadliger ( Kugyo ) in the Heian period of Japan. Michitaka is sometimes called Nijo Kampaku.
He ruled as regent for the emperor Ichijō Japan:
- May 8, 990 to 26, 990 as Kampaku
- On May 27, 990-983 as Sesshō
- 983-995 as Kampaku
Ichijō married Michitakas daughter Teishi ( Sadako ) and so reinforced the close relationship between the imperial family and the Fujiwara.
Two regents ( Michinaga and Michikane ) and two imperial consorts ( Chushi and Senshi ) were among his siblings. Michikane followed him immediately after in office.
