Fulcoald of Rouergue

Fulcoald (lat: Fulcoaldus; † after 837 ) was a Frankish nobleman in the 9th century, missus in the Rouergue, and is considered the founding father of the Raimundiner, the Counts of Toulouse.

According to an issued on October 21, 837 diploma of the Frankish king and Roman Emperor Louis I the Pious Fulcoald ( Rouergue ) and Nemausense was together with a Ragambald to the missus ( King messengers ) in pago Rutenico ( Nîmois ) appointed, so the administrator of the ruler in these provinces. Made possible was thus also the office of Count of Rouergue.

From the founding document of the Abbey of Vabres shows the Fulcoald was married to a woman named Senegundis and those were her sons Fredelo and Raimund I., who could take over the county Toulouse in the middle of the 9th century.
