The Full City is a 167 -meter long bulk carrier registered in Panama owned by a Hong Kong COSCO subsidiary with a crew of 23 people.
Accident
The ship was launched on 31 July 2009 in bad weather about 100 nautical miles south of Oslo, the place Langesund due. The ship suffered doing heavy damage to the soil and part of the on-board 1,100 tons of fuel were released. The oil was spread over more than 100 km of coastline and posed a threat of fauna and tourism dar. Until August 5, 2009 were 212 tons of oil emulsion collected. The consequences of the oil spill could not be evaluated at this time. The British newspaper The Independent spoke of " one of Norway's biggest disasters ."
Hijacking in May 2011
Early May 2011, pirates hijacked the Full City in the Indian Ocean, approximately 450 nautical miles off Mumbai. The ship was only a short time freed it from official forces again.
