Funker Vogt

Funker Vogt is a music project from Hameln in the electric genre.

Foundation & History

The band was founded in 1995 as a side project of Ravenous. The name refers to a friend of the two founding members Jens sings and Gerrit Thomas, who was a radio operator in the army and was called with the surname Vogt. Later came as an extension of Live Crew yet Thomas Kroll (guitar), who was later replaced by Frank Schweigert and Björn Böttcher (Keys) to do so. Among other things, for the U.S. tour in 2008 but is again Thomas Kroll, for reasons of time, for Frank Schweigert in the live line-up. In 2012, parted ways and Björn Böttcher left the band. Thomas Kroll retired in early 2012, since René Dornbusch is the new live keyboardist and drummer.

Style

The music is attributed to the electrical environment. Current issues such as war or violence be treated but also more socially related issues of content. Initially, English lyrics were mainly used, but later also German. The early albums contained very brutal electronic beats and sent a lot of effects, voice of the singer Jens sings. From the "Navigator " and especially in the album "Survivor " can recognize a clear, undistorted vocals. Also worked increasingly with real guitar riffs.

As is usual in the genre, in addition to several original compositions often pieces of other bands remixing eg Leather Strip, Front 242, fornication, Mellotron, L' âme Immortelle, The I, Velvet Acid Christ. Conversely, the Funker Vogt Mix pieces are popular candidates in other groups of this genre.

Gerrit Thomas also called the side project " Fictional " to life. With Jens sings he makes even Fusspils 11 As a final project, the band "Gecko " sector, with Stefan angle was founded.

On November 20, 2013, Jens sings announced to leave the band after a final concert in late November.
