Furesø Municipality

Furesø commune [ fu ː ʀəsø ː ʔ ] is a commune in the Danish Capital Region. It has 38 236 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) and an area of ​​56.80 km ².

Furesø commune located 20 km north- west of Copenhagen. In the local area there are large areas of forest and several lakes, after the largest of these lakes, the Furesø ( German Furesee ), is named the municipality.

The municipality was created in the municipal reform on 1 January 2007 from the merger of the formerly independent municipalities of Farum and Værløse. Seat of administration is in Farum.

A The city Birkerød is for the most part on the territory of the Birkerød Sogn Sogn and Bistrup in Rudersdal municipality to each a small part but also in the field of Blovstrød Sogn in the Allerød Kommune and just the Farum Sogn.

B The city Smørumnedre is for the most part on the territory of Måløv Sogn in the Ballerup Kommune and Smørum Sogn in the Egedal Kommune, a small part but also in the field of Værløse Sogn.

C. A part of the territory of the commune, which corresponds to the city Hareskovby, part of the settlement area Hovedstadsområdet. ( Be distinguished within which no other places ) in this area, currently live 3699 inhabitants.
