Gabriel Bacquier

Gabriel Bacquier ( born May 17, 1924 in Béziers, Hérault ) is a French opera singer with the voice baritone.

Bacquier interpreted roles of his repertoire of numerous composers from different eras. Among them are works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jacques Offenbach, Georges Bizet, Jules Massenet and Maurice Thiriet.

Bacquier has regular performances at the greatest opera houses, including the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House and the Metropolitan Opera.

As one of the most renowned baritones of the 20th century was Bacquier Officer of the Ordre national du Mérite and Commandeur of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier of the Legion of Honour.
