Gabriel Campillo

Gabriel Campillo ( born September 19, 1978 in Madrid ) is a Spanish professional boxer and former WBA world champion in the light heavyweight division.

His first fight is 9 February 2002 ended without a championship. On 20 June 2009, he defeated the Argentine Hugo Hernan Garay in Sunchales just on points and won by surprising the WBA world title. Mid-August 2009 Campillo defended his title against the Kazakhs Beibut Schumenow, who only earned his ninth professional fight, but lost the rematch and thus his title on 29 January 2010 at Schumenow.

Other titles he won are the Spanish league title in the light heavyweight and the EU title at super middleweight. A EM- fight at super middleweight against Karo Murat he lost.
