Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur

Gabriel -Hippolyte Destailleur ( born September 27, 1822 in Paris, ibid † November 17, 1893 ), also called Hippolyte -Alexandre Destailleur (full baptismal name Hippolyte Alexandre Gabriel Walter ), was an internationally known French architect, restorer, interior designer and collector, attributable to the historicism.

Life and career

Destailleur worked in the second half of the 19th century by order of influential personalities in France, England, Austria and Germany.

Gabriel -Hippolyte was the son of trained by Percier and Fontaine architect François -Hippolyte Destailleur (1787-1852) and brother of Hélène de Bourge (* 1812), Leroux de Lincy Emma and Henri Prosper -Alfred Destailleur, all three as painter impacts.

From 1842 he studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris Achille Leclère. From the following year, he worked in the studio of his father, which he took over in 1853 after his death. He restored among others Chateau of Vaux -le- Vicomte.

His son Walter -André Destailleur was also an architect.
