Gaius Charles

Gaius Charles ( born May 2, 1983 in Manhattan, New York ) is an American actor.

General

Charles was born in Manhattan, but also lived in Queens. He later moved with his family to Teaneck, New Jersey, where he graduated in 2001 at the Teaneck High School. He attended Carnegie Mellon University. There he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In addition, he studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney.

Career

He had many small guest appearances, including in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Charles participated in over 250 auditions before he was included in the cast of Friday Night Lights in 2006. In the first two season he played Brian " Smash" Williams in the main cast in the third season, he only appeared as a minor role. In the ninth season of the medical drama Grey's Anatomy, Charles was seen as a supporting actor. With the start of the tenth season of his character, however, belong to the main cast.
