Galina Ulanova

Galina Ulanova Sergejewna (Russian Галина Сергеевна Уланова, scientific transliteration Galina Ulanova Sergeevna; born December 26 1909jul / January 8 1910greg in Saint Petersburg, .. † 21 March 1998 in Moscow) was a Russian prima ballerina.

Life

Galina Ulanova was the daughter of a solo dancer and a dancer and ballet master at the Mariinsky Theatre. She began her training at the age of nine years at the ballet school of the theater connected. After her graduation in May 1928 she danced for the Ballet Company of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, later the Kirov Ballet. Soon after, she got her first solo performances.
