Galinhas

The Ilha das Galinhas, including Ilha de Galinhas or short Galinhas is an island of Guinea-Bissau belonging archipelago of Bissagos Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.

The state capital Bissau is located about 60 km northeast. Neighboring islands in the East Bolama, in the west the largest of the archipelago Formosa and in the south, among others Roxa. On the 50 km ² island of 1,500 people live. Settlements are Ambancana, Acampamento and Ametite, with these schools, as well as Ancano and Anchorupe. One of the uncertain environment is the harvest of cashew nuts, which are mainly exported to India.
