The Community Gare Saint -Gervais- les- Bains- Le Fayet is located in Le Fayet, a village in the municipality of Saint -Gervais- les- Bains. He is beginning or terminus of two rail lines: the standard gauge rail line from La Roche- sur -Foron -Saint -Gervais and the narrow gauge railway Saint- Gervais- Chamonix- Vallorcine, in its prolongation as Martigny- Châtelard train to the Swiss town of Martigny leads. History

The rail line from La Roche- sur -Foron -Saint -Gervais was built by the Compagnie des Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée (PLM ). The standard gauge railway station and the station building in Le Fayet were built in 1898.

1901 was also taken from the PLM, the meter gauge route via Chamonix to Vallorcine in operation. In Le Fayet the deop and the workshops of this narrow gauge railway emerged.
