Gareth MacHale

Gareth MacHale (born 12 August 1980) is an Irish rally driver. He rode from 2006 to 2009 in the World Rally Championship ( WRC).

Career

After MacHale had taken part in several rallies in Ireland and the United Kingdom, in 2006 he gave his debut in the World Rally Championship ( WRC). In a Ford Focus RS WRC, he completed eight rallies and scored with a sixth placing it in the points. He finished the season on top of the 21 overall. In 2007, MacHale part in five rallies in the WRC. He started again in a Ford Focus RS WRC and scored with an eighth place as best result a point. In the World Cup he was again 21 He also took part in Irish or British rallies.

Since 2008 he participated only once in 2009 at a WRC rally part. In addition, he was mostly took part in Irish rallying. In October 2010, he won in the Ford Focus WRC for the first time the Irish tarmac championship, which had already won his father Austin five times.

2008 MacHale took part in the Race of Champions.
