Garth Morrison

Sir William Garth Morrison, KT, CBE, DL ( born April 8, 1943 in Edinburgh, † 24 May 2013) was a British landowner and Scout official. From 1988 to 1996 he was Chief Scout of the Scout Association in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Life

Morrison attended Pangbourne College and played in 1962 in the Britannia Royal Navy College in Dartmouth in. He then studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and earned a degree there in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts. In July 1970 he married. Morrison was 12 years a soldier in the Royal Navy and served as an engineer officer in 1973, he retired as a lieutenant from. After retiring from the Royal Navy, he took over in 1973, the 230 -acre family estate in the Scottish West Fenton.

In 1981 he became chief commissioner of the Scout Association for Scotland. He was deputy director of the British contingent contingent for the 16th World Scout Jamboree in Australia in 1987.

1984 Morrison was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II appointed Deputy Lieutenant in East Lothian, and on 30 July 2001 on the Lord Lieutenant.
