Gary Gilbert

Gary Gilbert ( * in Detroit, Michigan) is an American film producer. He was nominated for the 2011 film The Kids Are All Right for the Oscar in the category of Best Film.

Life

Gilbert attended Southfield - Lathrup High School in Michigan and then graduated from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. His brother Daniel founded in 1985, the mortgage credit institution Rock Financial. Gilbert went into the business of his brother; the institution they sold in 1999 at the software company Intuit Inc. for 532 million U.S. dollars. Today it is known as the Quicken Loans.

Then Gilbert moved to New York to begin a new career. He was enthusiastic about producing films and shuttled repeatedly to Los Angeles, where he now lives. In 2004 he was on Zach Braff attentive, was looking for a producer for his screenplay Garden State. Gilbert was ready to finance the project. 2005 Gilbert Award for the film with the Independent Spirit Award. Following this she worked as Pathology ( 2008), The Kids Are All Right (2010) and Margaret ( 2011). Along with Jordan Horowitz, he founded the film production company Gilbert Films.

Gilbert and his brother are co-owner of the NBA team Cleveland Cavaliers.
