Gashaw Asfaw

Gashaw Asfaw (also: Gashaw Melese; born 26 September 1978) is an Ethiopian marathon runner.

In 2003 he was second in the Dubai Marathon, which he won in the following year. The Paris Marathon 2004 he was fourth in 2005 and third parties. In 2006, he won just there with his personal best of 2:08:03, and in 2007 he finished second.

In a marathon, the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 he was still at km 35 on the first three pursuers of the leading Jaouad Gharib, but had to abandon the race. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, he finished 14th place.

At the Boston Marathon 2008, he was fourth.
