Gaston Thierry

Gaston Thierry ( born July 17, 1866 in Munich, † September 16, 1904 in Mubi ) was a German officer and administrative officer in Togo and Cameroon.

Life

Thierry was the son of a businessman. He joined after attending high school in 1886 in the Infantry Regiment No. 88, became in the same year Portepee ensign and second lieutenant in 1887. In 1891 he retired from the army and joined the I. Battalion lake. In 1894, he was temporarily ordered to the suppression of the mutiny of the police force to Cameroon. 1894 promoted to first lieutenant, he left for September 12, 1895 From the Marine Infantry and entered No. 10 in the Grenadier Regiment " King Friedrich Wilhelm II " (1st Silesian ) a.
