Gay Krant

Gay Krant, a Dutch magazine and has been published since 1980.

The Gay Krant is a Dutch magazine for LGBT people and was founded in January 1980. Chief editor of the Gay Krant was until 2012 the journalist and politician Henk Krol, who gave up that post after his entry into the Second Chamber of the States General for 50PLUS party. Gay Krant was created initially as a magazine for the gay bar You Masher in Eindhoven and has evolved over the decades into the main LGBT magazine in the Netherlands. The circulation is about 30,000 editions and appear in A4 format since 2000.

In addition to Henk Krol reported 1980-1989 journalist Arjan Broekhuizen as an editor for the magazine. Between 1990 and 2005, this task fell to the journalist Hans van Velde. Since 2005, Adri van Esch takes over this activity. Known more for the Gay Krant columnist include Marjan Berk, Boris Dittrich, Cees van der Pluijm and university teacher Rob Tielman from Utrecht.

Gay Krant price

The magazine awarded from 1992 to 2006 the Gay Krant - Prize for emancipation activities for LGBT rights. The prize was awarded at first every four years. Since 2008, the price was abandoned in favor of the newly assigned price in memory of Jos Brink. With the Gay Krant - Prize were awarded:
