Geefwee Boedoe

Geefwee Boedoe (* 1965 in Wenatchee, Washington) is an American animator and book illustrator.

Life

Boedoe already turned during school first movies and wanted to be as a young filmmaker. He completed his studies in 1988 at the California Institute of the Arts from. Since then, he was responsible for Pixar, Disney Feature Animation, ILM and Dreamworks animator as active. Boedoe created, among others, the title sequence for the animated film Monsters, Inc., animated the Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and created the character of Kekata in Pocahontas. As an artistic role models he describes the children's books, Dr. Seuss', but also the classic Disney animated films and cartoons by Max Fleischer.

Since 2002 Boedoe is a freelance filmmaker and artist. He writes and illustrates children's books, for example. His first children's book Arrow Ville winner of the 2004 Reuben Award for Best Cartoonist Society Book Illustration of the national and voted one of the ten best illustrated children's books of the year by the New York Times that same year.

In 2006 Boedoe began working on his own first animated film Let's Pollute, which was completed in late 2009. He was nominated in 2011 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ".

Boedoe lives with his wife and his daughter in San Francisco.
