Lichtscheid: headwaters of the Gelpe
The Gelpe or the Gelpebach or Gelper creek is a small stream that is created by the confluence of Dornbach ( source in Lichtscheid ) and Hucke Bach. The creek flows through the Gelpetal and forms in the lower reaches the border of the cities of Wuppertal and Remscheid, until it empties into the Morsbach in Remscheid district Clemens hammer. The Gelpe is about 5.8 km long with a gradient of 2.27 %. On average it to the Morsbach to 280 liters of water per second.
