The Aeropuerto Internacional General Juan N. Álvarez International Airport is the Mexican city of Acapulco. The airport was named after Juan Alvarez Benítez (1790-1867), a General and President of Mexico, Acapulco took over on 15 October 1821 by royalists and then was commander of Acapulco.
The airport is the largest in Mexico's southern Pacific region. At the airport can land 747 -200B aircraft to the maximum size of a Boeing.
The airport is operated by OMA ( Grupo Aeropurtario Centro Norte, SAB de CV) and is the southernmost of the 13 airports that operates this group was founded in 1998.
