Genlisea pygmaea is a carnivorous species of the genus Reuse traps ( Genlisea ), which was first described in 1833 by Augustin François César Prouvençal de Saint -Hilaire.

Description

This type is very small in comparison to other members of their species. Her narrow spatulate leaves are spreading, as is common with many Reuse traps from a rosette of leaves. This type requires a lot of water which is why they are found on wet, sometimes flooded sandy soils in the lake or swampy areas and on sandstone rocks altitudes 900-1400 m. The Genlisea pygmaea is a South American species that is found in Brazil, Venezuela, Guyana, Colombia and Trinidad.
