Gennady Mikhaylov

Gennady Mikhailov (Russian Геннадий Михайлов; born February 8, 1974 in Cheboksary ) is a former Russian racing cyclist and current sports director.

Sporting career

Gennady Mikhailov began his career in 1996 with the team CSKA Lada. In 2000 he moved to Farm Frites and came in 2001 to the Belgian team Lotto - Adecco. There he played in two years his only Tour de France appearances. His best result in 2001 was the 59th overall. In 2002 he went for his first professional win, he won a stage of the Tour de Luxembourg. The following year he moved to the U.S. team U.S. Postal Service to Lance Armstrong. In the Vuelta a España 2004, he won with his teammates at the opening team time trial. End of the 2009 season, he finished his sports career ended to be sports director at Katjuscha.
