Gennady Novitsky

Henads Nawizki ( born January 2, 1949 in Mogilev ) is a Belarusian politician.

Nawizki studied at a polytechnic and at the Party School. He then worked as an engineer in Mogilev and the neighborhood. From 1977 to 1988 he was a member of the local Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he participated in the government of the newly independent Republic of Belarus from 1994, the post of Minister of Architecture and Construction, and was from 1997 Deputy Prime Minister. On 10 October 2001 he was appointed by President Alexander Lukashenko as prime minister. His successor was from June 2003 to December 2010 Syarhey Sidorski.
