Geoff Emerick

Geoff Emerick ( born 1946 in London ) is a British sound engineer and music producer who became known for his work with the Beatles. With them he worked on the albums " Revolver", " Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band "," The Beatles " and" Abbey Road ".

Work

The first recording of the Beatles, who accompanied Emerick as the responsible engineer, was Tomorrow Never Knows (1966 ), after his predecessor Norman Smith was from then on worked as a producer. In April 2007, Emerick worked, among others, along with Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, Travis and Razorlight on a new recording of the Beatles' album " Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ". For this purpose he used the original recording technology from the year 1967. The result of this work was transferred to the 40th anniversary of the original album on BBC Radio on 2 June 2007.
