Razorlight

Razorlight is an Anglo- Swedish band around the singer Johnny Borrell, former bassist of the Libertines.

History

Johnny Borrell, who wanted to form their own band after his experiences with the Libertines, recruited in 2002, first to Sweden Björn Ågren via a display. A little later, was accepted as a next member Carl Dalemo. He was also a Swede, played in his home for some time with the band "Spiral Stars" guitar, and took over also the vocals. However, for Razorlight he switched to bass. Christian Smith - Pancorvo, an Englishman with Peruvian roots, Razorlight joined as a drummer, and thus completed the classic rock band line-up.

The public first learned of Razorlight, as the moderator, John Kennedy, cover, some of their demos in his program. In summer 2003 the band signed a contract with the label Mercury Records / Universal Music and began to record their first album, the Mercury CEO Steve Lillywhite should produce. However Lillywhite left the label after some time to produce for the band U2. As a new producer John Cornfield has been committed. After drummer Christian Smith - Pancorvo joined the band Serafin his brother and was replaced by Andy Burrows, Razorlight publish in June 2004 in England, their debut album Up All Night, which appeared a little later also in Germany. It placed itself in position two on the British charts. The single from the album Somewhere Else managed beginning in 2005 up to number two on the British charts. The album contains the song not original; after the success of the single, he was, however, adds the new edition.

In July 2006, the band released the first single In the Morning of her shortly afterwards released their second album Razorlight. The single placed at number three in the UK Singles Chart, the album two weeks at number one on the album charts. The second single, entitled America made ​​it shortly after its release in October 2006 on the number one on the UK Singles Charts. The published in December 2006 third single from Before I Fall to Pieces achieved 17th place

In 2008, the album Slipway Fires, whose lead single, Wire to Wire became an international success for the band appeared. The album made ​​it to Germany, Austria and the UK in the top ten of their respective charts. Early March 2009, drummer Andy Burrows left the band for personal reasons, and published in 2010 with his new band I Am Arrows Sun Comes Up Again Album. Andy David Sullivan - Kaplan, called " Skully ", replaced him. After Andy Burrows also Bjorn Agren and Carl Dalemo adopted in January 2011 by the band. Substitute for the two founding members are Gus Robertson on guitar and Freddie Stitz on bass.

Concerts

Live Razorlight occurred in Germany in 2006, first as the opening act of the Swedish band Mando Diao and the Rolling Stones in Cologne in appearance. From 18 January to 9 February 2007, she toured as a headliner with appearances in Cologne, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Bochum and Heidelberg by Germany. In addition, Razorlight participated in the double festival Rock am Ring / Rock im Park from 1 part to 3 June 2007.

In 2009, she appeared as in 2007 on the double event Rock am Ring / Rock im Park from June 5 to 7 in Germany.

In Switzerland, they came on 26 October 2010 as the opening act for Ray Davies at the AVO Session.
