Criticism

The reviews were mostly negative. Matthias Wüntscher of cdstarts.de described the album as a letdown. Although Andreas Bättig of Laut.de said that Slipway Fires was not a bad album, one of the few beads on Slipway Fire but am only Wire to Wire. Andrew Leahy of Allmusic called the album so little " dirty" as Fleetwood Mac in the early 1980s. He forgave two and a half stars out of five. Metacritic.com awarded 52 points out of 100, based on 15 reviews.
