GeoNetwork opensource

GeoNetwork opensource is a metadata information system software for spatial data. It is characterized by conformity to standards ISO/TC211 and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC ) and implements the Web Catalogue Service (CSW ) 2.0.2. As a project of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation, the program is free software.

Technology

In the development of GeoNetwork much emphasis is placed on compliance with open standards to enable interoperability with other applications. The server software is written in Java.

Use

The software is used as a search service at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and, since 2009 in the National Spatial Data Infrastructure of Switzerland GDI -CH.
