Geordie Walker

Kevin " Geordie " Walker ( born December 18, 1958 at County Durham, England ) is a British post-punk guitarist, known as a member of Killing Joke.

CV and career

When Walker was 14 years old, his family moved from Newcastle to Milton Keynes to, about 70 km north- west of London. Here he got his nickname because of its northeastern " Geordie " accent.

Walker moved to London to study architecture, and in 1979 to the founding member of Killing Joke. Previously, he has never played in a band. Together with singer Jaz Coleman he was the only constant members of the band Killing Joke.

In the band breaks from Killing Joke Walker was also guitarist in the group Murder Inc., The Damage Manual, and Pigface.

He lived with his wife and his son Lloyd in Detroit, Michigan. During his work with Killing Joke at the studio album Hosannas from the Basements of Hell (2006) he moved to the Czech Republic and lives since then in Prague, where he was involved in several other projects and is.

Style

Walker stands out because of its cool, casual style on the stage, where he smokes often, even at concerts in the U.S., although there is forbidden on the stage smoking.

His distinctive sound is based largely on his way to play guitar, because although it sounds as if more conventional heavy metal guitarist at work, Geordie plays from the wrist and caresses the strings.
