Georg Albrecht, Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth-Kulmbach

Georg Albrecht of Brandenburg- Kulmbach (* March 20, 1619 in Bayreuth, † September 27, 1666 in Bayreuth ), was the founder of the branch line Kulmbach ( Kulmbach - Bayreuth branch of ) the younger branch of the Franconian Hohenzollern. Two of his grandchildren came to the rule in the Principality of Bayreuth, he himself has never ruled as sovereign.

Georg Albrecht of Brandenburg- Kulmbach was the second son of Christian von Brandenburg -Bayreuth (1581-1655) and his wife Marie of Prussia ( 1579-1649 ). His older brother, Prince Erdmann August, already died in 1651, four years before his father's death. Georg Albrecht, however, could not enter into the inheritance, because his brother had been born with Christian Ernst already in 1644 a successor. This then joined in 1655, after the death of his grandfather, the government in the Principality of Bayreuth. After his only son, George William was, however, died in 1726 without male issue, joined with George Frederick Charles, the oldest grandson of Georg Albrecht rule in the Principality of Bayreuth. When his son Frederick also remained without male descendants, finally came with Friedrich Christian still the youngest grandson of Georg Albrecht to the Government of the Principality of Bayreuth.

The substantiated by Georg Albrecht branch line of the Franconian Hohenzollern was sometimes referred to as Wefer Linger line since his son Christian Heinrich had the Weferlingen castle as a residence based on the Schönberger contract.
