Georg von Bertouch

Georg von Bertouch (* 1668 in Helmershausen, Germany, † September 14, 1743 in Oslo, Norway; actually Georg Bertuch ), whose nobility is an invention of later generations, was a composer and Danish- Norwegian general.

As a young man he studied claims to Daniel Eberlin violin and composition. He disputed 1693 in Kiel on a legally - musical treatise De eo quod est circa justum ludos scenicos operasque modernas as Spitta reported.

Later he entered the military career and allegedly took part in more than 22 battles. He corresponded with famous musicians and composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Lotti. As the Hamburg musician Johann Mattheson his treatise The Sheltered orchestra devoted 13 famous musicians, Bertouch was one of them. During the last years of his life (1719-1740) he was commander of the Akershus Fortress in front of the harbor of Oslo.

Bertouch published in the course of his 75 - year life not a single composition. The academic edition of his handwritten surviving works appeared from 2006 to 2008 A big reason why his name is never forgotten, are mentioned by Spitta 24 trio sonatas in all major and minor keys. XXIV Sonatas composées par les Canons, fugues, Contre points & parties, selon le sisteme de 24 modes & les preceptes you fameux Musicien, componiste & Polihistor Jean Mattheson, a 3, auec la Basse continüe. Here, since the word " fugue " is used, one might assume, the Sonata collection Bertouchs was an early example of imitation of the Well-Tempered Clavier, but this question is considered to be unknown. The sonatas testify that he was familiar with the innovations Arcangelo Corelli.
