George Axelrod

George Axelrod ( June 9, 1922 *, † 21 June 2003) was an American screenwriter, but also a film producer and film director. He was mainly active during the 1950s and 1960s. In 1961 he was nominated for an Academy Award ( for Best Adapted Screenplay in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's, 1961).

Axelrod also wrote some novels and plays. The most famous of these, My wife does not experience any word ( The Seven Year Itch ) was filmed in 1955 by Billy Wilder as The damn 7 year ( The Seven Year Itch ) with Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell.
