George Coulouris

George Coulouris ( born October 1, 1903 in Manchester, † April 25, 1989 in London) was a British actor.

Life

Coulouris was the son of a Greek immigrant and an English mother. In 1929 he made ​​his debut on Broadway. His breakthrough in the movie business, he reached as a strict guardian in Citizen Kane on the side of Orson Welles. He received an award for the role of the National Board of Review and was henceforth appeared in numerous Hollywood films. He often played villains or doing unsymphatische figures. In the Doctor films with Dirk Bogarde as Simon Sparrow, he held regular supporting roles as a patient or a ship's carpenter. With his first wife, Louise Franklin, he was married from 1930 until her death in 1976. They had two children. In 1977 he married Elizabeth Donaldson, with whom he remained married until his death.
