George Evans (basketball)

George Evans ( born January 31, 1971 in Portsmouth, Virginia ) is a retired American professional basketball player.

The 2.02 m wide and 105 -pound center began at the age of 25 years, his basketball career at George Mason University, where he played for five years. During this time he was elected 1999-2001 three-time player of the year, the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA ).

In 2001 he moved to Europe, where he played seven years for the Belgian Erstligaclub Dexia Mons -Hainaut. For the season 2008/09 Evans joined the German Bundesliga club TBB Trier. In April 2011, he left the club surprisingly for family reasons. At the time of his departure he was the oldest player in the National Basketball League.
