George Peppard

George Peppard ( born October 1, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, † May 8, 1994 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

1946-1948 Peppard was the United States Marine Corps, which he left as a sergeant. 1948 to 1949 he studied civil engineering at Purdue University. He became involved with the Purdue Playmakers, a theater group and became a member of Beta Theta Pi compound that belongs to the Miami Triad. He completed his studies in 1955 at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh with a Bachelor. Theater he played at Pittsburgh Playhouse.

As his mother, Vernelle Rohrer, an opera singer, he was also dabbled in this industry. He began in radio and visited so a drama school in New York. When his father died in 1951, he first got alcohol problems.

Sustainable fame earned Peppard, who otherwise mostly participated in rather second-rate films, his role in Breakfast at Tiffany's. He was known then again in the 1980s in his role as Colonel John " Hannibal " Smith in the television series The A-Team. Peppard in 1980 engaged as a performer of Blake Carrington for the series Dynasty. After the pilot had been produced the series with him, but he fell out with the producers and was discharged.

From Peppards five marriages a total of two children were born. When Colonel John " Hannibal " Smith, he always smoked cigar, which was the case also in his private life. 1992 Peppard got lung cancer, but could be defeated. In 1994 he was, however, taken to hospital with breathing problems and died a few days later of pneumonia.
