Georges Gasté

Georges Gasté, actually Constant Georges Gasté, ( born August 30, 1869 in Paris, † 1910 in Madurai, British India) was a French painter.

Life

Gasté was a son of art dealer Gasté Henri (1845-1871); his grandfather was the art dealer Pierre Gasté ( 1820-1884 ). Gasté was trained at the École des Beaux -Arts (EBA ) in his hometown, his teachers have included Alexandre Cabanel and Raphaël Collin. He was enthusiastic about early on Orientalism.

Suggestions he gained from his regular study trips he. Since 1892 to and through North Africa to Palestine On his last trip, which resulted in South India, he fell ill and died at about 41 years in Madurai.
