Georgian Cup

The Georgian Football Cup (Georgian: საქართველოს თასი ) is the highest cup competition in Georgian football. From 1944 to 1989, the Cup of the Soviet Union Republic GSSR took place. On February 15, 1990, the independent Georgian Football Federation was founded. He is responsible not only for the trophy for the championship Umaghlessi the league. In 2001, the competition was named after the former Georgian footballer Dawit Qipiani; who had recently died. The trophy winner will receive a spot in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.
