Georgina Póta

Georgina Póta ( born January 13, 1985 in Budapest) is a Hungarian table tennis player. She was twice European champion.

Career

Georgina Póta began in 1990 with the play table tennis and joined the club in 1994 Statisztika Budapest. With its women's team won from 1998 to 2006 with the exception of 2000, the Hungarian championship eight times. 2006 and 2008 she was Hungarian Champion in singles, in 2010 and 2013 ( with Petra Lovas ), she won the doubles title.

First international success it achieved in the late 1990s and early 2000s at the European Youth Championships:

In 2003 she won the European ranking tournament TOP -12 for youth.

In adults Póta launched for the first time in 2003 in a World Cup until today (2011) they took part in a World Cup nine times. They reached the 2007 quarter-finals in doubles. Since 2005, she has been nominated four times for the European Championships. She was European Champion in 2008, together with Double Krisztina Tóth, with whom she had been in the final in 2007. Another gold medal she won in 2007 with the Hungarian women's team. In 2008 she qualified for participation in the Olympic Games. With the German Tanja Hain- Hofmann 2005 she came to the double semi-final of the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals.

In the national ranking of Hungary she attended from 2007 to 2009 each ranked second behind Krisztina Tóth.

Germany

In 2008, she joined the German Bundesliga 3B Berlin ( now called " Ttc berlin eastside " ) where they (2013 ) plays still active today.
