Georgy Aleksandrov

Georgy Fedorovich Aleksandrov (born 22 Märzjul / April 4 1908greg in Saint Petersburg, .. † July 21, 1961 in Moscow) was a Soviet philosopher and politician. He served as Minister of Culture of the USSR.

Curriculum vitae

Alexandrov graduated in 1932 graduated from the Moscow Institute of History and Philosophy from. From 1940 to 1947 he headed the Department of Propaganda and Agitation of the Central Committee of the CPSU from 1947 to 1954 he was director of the Institute of Philosophy at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1948 he was Academician. In 1954/55 he was Minister of Culture of the USSR. From 1955 to 1961 he again worked at the Institute of Philosophy. For his contribution to the history of philosophy ( Istoriia filosofii, 1943) and the history of Western European Philosophy ( Istoriia Zapadno - evropejskoj filosofii, 1946) he was awarded the State Prize.
