Gérard Calvi

Gérard Calvi ( born July 26, 1922 in Paris; actually Grégoir Krettly ) is a French composer.

Gérard Calvi studied at the Paris Conservatory and won the 1956 Prix de Rome. He composed more than 300 songs, among others, for Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli and Trini Lopez, chamber music and symphonic works. Above all, he but became known as a film music composer.

He wrote the Asterix theme of the most famous cartoon themes ever.
