Gérard Gropaiz

Gérard Gropaiz ( born August 1, 1943 in Paris, † October 6, 2012 ) was a French swimmer.

Gropaiz started for CF Racing Paris. At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he resigned from both the 100m freestyle and the 4x200m freestyle relay in the preliminary round. Gropaiz played opposite Robert Christophe, Jean -Pascal and Alain Curtillet Gottvallès the French 4x100 meters freestyle relay that swam the world record time of 3:42,5 min in Thionville on 10th August 1962. In the same occupation, the French squadron was a few days later, victorious at the European Swimming Championships in 1962 in Leipzig and won a silver medal on the 4x200 m freestyle. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he managed to qualify for the semi-final on 100m freestyle, with the French 4x100 meters freestyle relay, he was disqualified in the final.
