Gerardo García León

Gerardo García León ( born December 7, 1974 in Seville ), short Gerardo, is a Spanish footballer who plays in the Spanish Segunda División plays at Real Sociedad.

Playing career

Gerardo started his career as a professional footballer in 1993 at Real Madrid Castilla in the Segunda División. After two years as a regular player in 1995 he joined the club and went to league rivals CD Leganés. There it held him not very long, only a year later he went despite regular place for the Catalan club UE Lleida. There, and also in 1997/98 with CD Badajoz he failed again on each ascent.

Villarreal

In the summer of 1998, Gerardo went to the first division team FC Villarreal. But after a year he went with his team already down again. Always Hing succeeded in 1999/2000 the direct re- ascent. After the first round Gerardo left the club and was loaned to the Spanish top club FC Valencia. But after half a year of the Andalusians was awarded to CA Osasuna.

The last years

In summer 2001, Gerardo joined for the first time in his Andalusian homeland and signed for first division club Málaga CF. With the Andalusians he played until relegation in 2006 and even reached the UEFA Cup once. After the season, he went to the Basque first division club Real Sociedad. Even with the Basques followed the descent, but this time he stayed with his club and is currently a regular player in the Segunda División.
