Gerhard Heinze

Gerhard Heinze ( born November 30, 1948 in Neu-Ulm ) is a former German football player.

In his youth he joined TSV Eggenfelden to VfB Stuttgart. Heinze signed his first professional contract in 1967 with VfB. The 19 -year-old goalkeeper talent was in his first season still in the shadow of 10 times national player Günter Savitsky, but already in the following season he was able to oust the then 36 -year-old Savitsky out of the gate. With 20 years Heinze was the number one VfB Stuttgart and remained by and large until 1975, although he was not without controversy because of its relatively low body height of 176 cm. So in 1971 Zlatko Škorić it was placed in front of the nose. In 1974, he had the young talent Helmut Roleder to resist. In the season 1974/1975, VfB Stuttgart, the only time in their history dismounted from the Bundesliga and Heinze moved to MSV Duisburg, where he was for years for the retention of the zebras. 1982 rose Heinze with the MSV Duisburg also from the German top flight football from, however, remained one year in the second league in the Duisburgern and then ended his career. Gerhard Heinze brought it in his career on 398 Bundesliga appearances and 30 second division operations.
